Store Designer – Program Management Team Nov. 2015 – Oct. 2016

  • Continuation of my role as a Contingent Worker, initially primarily supporting the Evenings program in the tasks outlined below.  Also including developing design guidelines for the regional design teams to follow, outreach to the various design, construction, and management teams for Evenings implementation, and creation and upkeep of a general email address for the Evenings program

  • Supporting the Program Management team with various design based needs, including test fits for pilot programs, layout and equipment reviews, plan and drawing reviews for the implementation of different programs into a variety of Starbucks stores

  • Involved in a pilot program, Core One, and responsible for the design of several stores including schematic design, review of AOR drawings, and review of shop drawings and proposals

  • Responsible for creating the Core One design guidelines and the template for the overall guidelines (a 150+ page document) given to designers, operators, and construction managers to create Core One stores when the project is out of pilot

Design Manager/Contingent Worker – Program Management Team March 2015 – Nov. 2015                                           

  • Reviewed and approved functional design solutions created by an outside architectural firm for Evenings implementation in off-cycle stores 

  • Assisted with various aspects of the Evenings program (Starbucks stores that sold wine and beer) to ensure stores are constructed correctly, including furniture and tile sourcing, created design tools for the use of our consultants, and worked at consultant architect’s office once a week to coordinate more closely with them

  • Reviewed on-cycle store drawings to ensure they accurately implement the Evenings components and created a form to easily audit stores and send to the designers/construction managers

  • Trained and mentored two junior level designers as they came on board with the Evenings program
